I guess I just don't get Stephen Crane. For me to call someone else "wordy", well, you get my drift.

I have the feeling that Violet has not forgiven me for the terror she experienced last night. The evidence of that terror lingers on in red scratches on my nose, wrist, thumb and hands. We don't have the closeness we had this time last week, and why should we? I took her to a place she did not want to go, and then tried to pick her up to put her back in her carrier--picked her up out of her safe place. She was so mad, she even darted out and slapped the bag of catnip. She was mad at inanimate objects. Poor baby. I'm being extra sweet to her and she's still loving to me, but I can tell she doesn't have the same trust. It will come back, but it will take time.

If my diet today did not give me diabetes, then hopefully, nothing will. Pepsi, Mountain Dew, 4 Snicker bars... not healthy in the first place, but all that sugar! My pancreas is probably declaring an internal emergency as we speak. Did you know there are 41 grams of sugar in a Pepsi? That's 14% of your recommended daily amount of carbs. Let's assume that Mountain Dew is the same (we'll assume that because I'm not getting off my fat butt to go look). Let's say I had 3 Pepsi's and 2 Mountain Dew's today. 41X5=205 grams, right? Now, if 41 grams is 14% of the recommended amount...then 205 grams is, err, well...um...I had too many sodas today to do math;)

Anyway, I really need to start taking care of myself better. I'm gonna be 30 next year, and while I do not see that as old by any means, I do see it as an opportunity to start negotiating health with my body. We will be together for quite some time and I'd like to start our adult years off on a good foot.

Oh, Tropical Storm Hanna did little to nothing here. Wind, rain, a few trees broken in half, some flooding...that's it. I never lost power (love those underground lines) and I didn't even get wet. :)

Well, I guess I should get back to studying. Thanks to chordchild for getting back to me on my Works to Word question! That sounds right to me, too. I may email a rich text attachment to my instructor to see if she can read it, then I'll know for sure.

Well, cats and kitties, it's time to get offline and finish my reading and writing. Tomorrow, I want to do my laundry and clean out my car. If there is any time left over, I need to finish up my first 2 sections for English, and go to Walmart to get some blank VCR tapes so I can tape the rest of my telecourse programs. Oh, and return the first tape to the library and get the next one because I got the wrong one, dddeerrrrrrrrrr, rofl.
